I believe the right environment is critical for teams to deliver their best work. I bring a unique perspective, having walked a mile in other shoes as a photographer, copywriter, graphic designer, art director, and creative director in the 20+ years I've been honing my craft. I'm fortunate to have worked with great agency and in-house teams across entertainment, healthcare, manufacturing, and publishing industries.

My current role combines creative direction and product management for the Universal Parks and Resorts Global Design System collaborating with teams in North America and Asia.

Creativity

Being creative requires getting comfortable with discomfort, exploring well-worn trails but being brave enough to push ourselves into new territory. Our best work happen when we understand everything about a core issue and the people facing it.

Process

A dependable, repeatable process is critical to producing consistent results. Just enough process to make sure you’re hitting key points, but not so much that it impedes innovation and break-through work. The User Centered Design process coupled with nimble and consistent project management keeps overhead to a minimum and keeps the team focused on solving real issues.

Leadership

People and teams are eager for predictability and integrity in their leadership, even in an industry defined by disruption. Fear and stress reduce the capacity for creative thought, and I have a responsibility to those I lead to be clear, candid, and champion their professional development. I rely on a blend of Situational Leadership and Servant Leadership to help individuals and teams do their best work, meeting people where they are to co-create a path forward. The same principles directly translate to influential leadership. Learning as much as possible about a person helps me achieve my goals in a way that helps them achieve theirs (borrowed from Outward Mindset).
